Video Marketing to Your Network - Quick Tip

I just ran this quick video to share some enthusiasm for the quickly growing area of online video. The more I work with it the more into it I get!

The real trick though is to really work to give your audience a reason to watch. Don't just pitch them. Really deliver something that people will find valuable. If you just pitch all the time then people will see that's all you're about and stop watching your videos and reading your content.

Video marketing is becoming the new article marketing, and if you use it properly you can continue to build strong relationships with even more people in your network marketing business.

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. You can also get updates by email using the "Get Your Update" form. Thanks for visiting!

How To Tag and Submit for Tagging on TaggZilla

I've been spending quite a bit of time in the social networks and helping a close group of marketers with site promotion. One of the tools we have been using is called TaggZilla. It's not the most intuitive creature to use, but when it is used properly, can help get exposure for your websites and your business to your target market.

To try and help clarify some right (and wrong) ways to go about using this tool, I put together some "how to" videos. Initially this was just going to be for our own little group, but thought other people would find this useful, even if you're not using TaggZilla. The first two videos (parts 1 and 2) will reveal some powerful methods for getting your own site into the social circles.

Of course it helps to have a few friends to help the process along, which is what TaggZilla is designed to do. So the next videos (submission - parts 1 and 2) show how to properly use the TaggZilla submission process.

Get The Most From Your Post

Here's a video that goes through a quick "zip" on getting the most out of making a WordPress (WP) post on the Semiologic theme (and it's features):

The important bits to note are the use of "tags" (which are used in pinging the blog directories), the "excerpt" box and the "description" box. Any questions? Leave a comment!

Business Growth Video: Tips for Article Submission

There comes a time in most online businesses where you will want to get your web site to rank well in search engines. A common tactic for getting that job done is through submitting articles to article directories in the hopes that they will get picked up by a webmaster and placed into a site that has good traffic and PageRank.

But what's the most efficient and most effective way to do that? Here ya go! A video that explains it:

(You may need to click on the "play" button while the player still shows "Loading…")

The video presupposes that you can either write good articles on your own, or that you have a well qualified person to write them for you. If you don't have either of those I would recommend Annette over at AMB Creative. She has a great article writing service and has done fantastic work for me.

And of course if your looking for that extra edge in your business, check out my MLM training page. That will lead you to the system that I've plugged into and support. And by support, I do things like explain more advanced topics that the course touches on as well as making special videos like the one above.

Have fun, and leave your comments!

Video: "Tell A Friend" System Tips

It's finally happened!

You finally get to see a video from me without having to look at me. :D

Several of the newer online systems in network marketing have a "Tell A Friend" feature which is supposed to make it easier to "tell your friends" about your business. There are a couple of problems inherent in those systems, though. Because it's potentially sending the same emails to thousands of people, email servers can see it as unsolicited commerical email (UCE) and block it from ever getting to the destination. The server sending the mail could even get blocked outright for similar reasons.

Another problem I have with these systems is that while the message may be full of information you do want to share with your friends, it doesn't have your voice. So this week I show how to use the positive features of a system like this (the email full of information) along with adding your own voice and increasing the odds of the message actually getting through and getting read.

While this video is done specifically with the "eVo" system, it's applicable to most "Tell A Friend" systems.

Video Blog: Network Marketing Heroes

This week has been one of the "unusual" weeks around here as my wife has been on call. That generally means that I get to spend more time caring for our son and less time working on the business stuff. This particular week has not been so bad as far as my wife working more hours during the day - it's more of a problem for her when she does not get a chance to sleep at night from all of the "pages" coming in.

At any rate this week the business subjects have been about the use of blogging as part of your advertising mix and also thinking about how "hard" network marketing is compared to things that a lot of people have to do for a living. To me, it's not so much that a person has a dirty or unpleasant job, but what bothers me is when people have to do that job to survive economically.

When you do things because you have to then life becomes a series of compromises rather than a series of choices.

So, to everyone who is putting the effort into your businesses, you are the heroes. You are going above and beyond the averages to make a life of choice!

FreeIQ - Video for Thinkers

This weekend I spent some time getting caught up with FreeIQ. I've been meaning to really dive in and see how it will help with marketing, but I've been a bit busy with so many other projects, plus taking care of our son who is just about 10 1/2 months old now.

I should have gotten to it sooner. ;)

When you first look at it, FreeIQ seems like just another video hosting service like YouTube, AOL video etc. But when you start to look at it closely, you can see that it is much more. The underlying premise of this site is to provide useful information, unlike sites such as YouTube which seem to be geared towards teenagers with bad acne, video game fetishes and poor taste in music. Its redeeming quality, at least to me, was that you could host and stream video without taking up the bandwidth or disk space on your own server.

Marketing Video Blog: Engineers, Personality and Branding

Here's this week's video blog entry and a quick lesson on SEO.

When you publish something like a video on a web page, it doesn't really produce much in the way of textual content for the search engines to find. When the search engine spiders come across the page, they see all of the formatting and standard text that is on the rest of your site, so they calculate that this page is a lot like the others pages. Since SE's like Google want to show unique, relevant results ina search, they'll stick that page in somthing called the "supplemental index".

This means that page is a lot less likely to show up for a search than other pages. Now the content of those other pages may not be as good, but because there are more words on the page put together in a fashion that is fairly unique from any other page in its index, it will show up earlier than a page with just a video on a blog site, even though that video may have great content.

Well, enough with a critique of search engines.

They're getting more capable all the time and since Google owns YouTube, I'm sure they're working on a way to index video content properly.

Note on YouTube: I wish there was a way for me to pick the still frame shown on the video. I look like a chipmunk. Oh well.
