One of the most challenging aspects of network marketing is finding the right kind of people for your business. The "right" kind of person would be someone who is searching for your product or wants the lifestyle a network marketing business can offer.

Unfortunately, people spend a lot of money on buying multi-level marketing (MLM) leads only to be disappointed with the results they get when they finally try to contact them. The only group that makes any money out of this are the lead generation companies.

Instead of pouring time and money into lists of leads, learn how to attract serously interested people to your business.

Coaching can help you get an edge on the competing or even just help you get more done in your life. "Life coaching" doesn't have to be a touchy-feely dig into your psyche to have it be a success.

Think of it more along the lines of the top sports personalities that have their own coaches. Why do they have their own coaches? Because their livelihood depends upon them being at the top of their game.

Does yours?

And how important is it to your competition?

One of the obstacles people come up with for not getting started with business on the internet is not having a product to promote. It turns out there are thousands of people who have made products and sales processes already, and give generous commissions to the people that will help market them.

Out of the thousands of products available, there is likely to be at least one that you either know a lot about already or would like to know about. By virtue of that product existing, there is likely to be a decent market for it since a good author would not put the time and expense into product creation unless they had previously done the market research.

So how does this widespread and potentially lucrative method form the gateway for your internet marketing efforts?

Guess what! I found another quality Network Marketing blog!

It may sound odd, but I like to find blogs that remind me of things I know (in addition to clueing me in to things I haven't learned yet). In this case the blog author points out that the limit on the income you can generate for yourself is mainly limited by what you believe you are worth. He then goes on to explain in part how or perceptions and beliefs affect our actions and results.

One further step to take with this knowlege and understanding is to decide what it is in your business is worth your time, and what it makes more sense to hire out. Are you worth more than $5 per hour? If so, then why are you doing $5 an hour jobs in your business?

I just spent about 45 minutes looking for another good blog focused on network marketing online. This was using the Technorati blog search, applying various filters and poking through content.

It's amazing how much junk there is on the internet. I'm glad we don't have to make landfill space for it!

The downside of this is that it's a challenge to find other leaders with internet network marketing skills to collaborate and share ideas with. The upside (and it can be a big upside) is that you can take advantage of this void by providing real help and guidance to other marketers. Be yourself, let your personality come through, and people like yourself will naturally gravitate to you. Conversely what happens if you produce junk?

You will often hear the slogan "the money is in the list" repeated by marketers ad nausium as if it's a religious mantra. While there is some core truth behind the statement, just repeating it doesn't do anyone much good. I would same the same about pretty much any religious mantra.

Even some of the people repeating this miss the reality that a "list" is made up of people who have opted to receive information from you. You should consider yourself a guest in their email inbox. So how should a guest behave?

Moving to the internet in your marketing efforts involves taking on a whole new skill set. Some of the things you already do on a daily basis (like shopping online and looking at web sites) will take on new meaning as you learn the design and marketing techniques behind these sites.

As your skill increases and you develop a critical eye you gain insight on what a small minority of people on the internet understand. You get to identify within a few seconds whether a site is making money or not, what their sales process is, and how involved they are with their business, among other things.

It's fairly apparent to most people that a new and different skill set is necessary to effectively use the internet in building your network marketing business. Those that started their business offline and only use the internet to send and receive email have only the faintest glimpse of what is possible.

In fact, for some that glimmer of insight is so faint that they have no concept of how to use the internet as another tool for business growth. They have no idea of the social networks in play and the communities that exist with people interacting at all hours and all over the world.

Just today I read a post in an internet marketing forum that implied network marketing was somehow beneath them. I can understand that from a certain perspective, as there are certain groups out there that just push what they call a "bizopp" with no regard to the product that is finally sold. They just focus on trying to get more people into their business plan and try to get them to do the same. There is no long term growth plan and these things only last a few weeks to a few months before they move on to the next one.

Kind of like locusts, but not quite as charming.

Whether you're just adding an online component to your offline business or you're starting from the beginning with the internet, there's one common component. You gotta have something to sell.

Aside from the obvious reason that it helps to generate short term income before the leveraging power inherent in the [tag-tec]network marketing[/tag-tec] model really kicks in, it also weeds out the people who are really not serious about doing business with you. That business may be as a consumer for your product or a member of your business team.
