The Thinking Process… of a Successful Process

You are probably as sick as I am of overhyped marketing reports that really don't give you much in the way of new information. And even the good ones tend to distill the information into a few nuggets (action items) that you are supposed to walk away and do something with.

What you miss in nearly all of those is the thinking behind why they recommend a certain way of doing things. It's the thinking process that will do us the most good, but it can be pretty hard to get between someone else's ears. It's bad enough keeping the stuff going on between my own ears straight. :D

Here's a chance for you to get between the ears of a guy who has been making quite a living for himself and others through buying and selling web sites. Ed Dale has just sent me another update on the rollout of his Dominiche course and I wanted to make sure you had it.

So here ya go!

-Roger

SUBJECT: Why Did You Buy That?!?

Getting a great deal on a website is really easy. Some might
say it's almost TOO easy…

Am I off my rocker? (Hey I did send you a comic book
yesterday!)

Here is my thinking: when people learn Dominiche - The Art of
Buying and Selling Web Sites

They discover how to:

     - Buy a PR8 site for $300 bucks (That's not a misprint and
if the whole "PR8" thing made you go huh - don't worry, I'll
       explain!)

     - Buy a site that makes $20,000 a year for only
       $12,000 bucks!

     - Buy sites for "No Money Down" just like you can do in
       real estate!

It becomes so easy to buy sites – you’ll just buy them for the
sake of buying them.

(If you want to know how this can happen, just ask my wife
about my guitar collection!!!)

The problem is - people don't know what to do with them once
they’ve bought them, and that is a recipe for disaster.

Dominiche changes all that . . .

WHY you’re buying a site is just as important to know as
HOW to make the deal happen to buy it.

Let me show you . . .

The other night I was helping a Dominiche Student evaluate a
site on Skype. We started discussing the key secrets.

Let's face it - It's little things like this really separate the
winners from the losers in the website brokering game.

I grabbed a copy of that conversation and have put in a special
PDF report for you.

You can get it here…..

Get Skype Transcript Here

It will just take a few minutes to read this Skype conversation
and there are some real gems in there.

While you’re reading that I'm going to find some sites that are
for sale so I can show you what’s around. I'm also going to be
talking with a student who has had a $730,000 offer for their
website . . .

. . . Not bad considering they started the site from scratch
six months ago!!

So check out the report at

and I'll see you tomorrow.

When Marketers Show Up in Comic Books

Could this be the new marketing medium? To heck with online video and viral PDFs - it's all about comic books now!

Well, maybe not. ;)

But, Ed does a great job of presenting his lastest info on buying and selling web sites while starring in his own comic. He does have to share the spotlight with a stuffed Koala, and I'm not really sure who puts on a better showing. :D

Take a look here and decide for yourself (his message to me is below):

Subject: This comic book (yes, a COMIC BOOK) has
some serious "ah HA" moments.

There is a concept that is just crucial for you to understand.
You need to seriously 'get it'.

In fact it's so serious - I have done a report on it for you in
the form of a…

COMIC BOOK!

Get Ed's Leverage Comic Here

This strategy is so powerful when you GET IT.

I didn't want you to get just another report.

So I made it - Different.

VERY Different.

Learn the key lesson in this report and you are on your way.

It's that important.

Really, Get Ed's Leverage Comic Here

Ed

P.S. I have just been asked by a student to help him assess
some deals that he has come across and the cool thing is
that he has agreed to let me show you the analysis - stay
tuned for this behind- the-scenes look at how I analyze deals
and sort the "wheat from the chaff".

Can You Say "FIGJAM"… And Mean It?

FIGJAM. This is a fun little acronym that I must admit didn't make sense when I first saw it in context. The next time I saw it, Ed Dale was explaining what the letters meant and I just started laughing. :D

I don't want to spoil the ending, so I'll let Ed explain it:

FIGJAM is an Australian expression. I'll explain what it
means and show you what it's got to do with buying and
selling web sites in today's video…

http://www.whatisdominiche.com

It occurred to me that I should explain how I came to be
teaching people about buying and selling web sites… it's a
weird and vaguely disturbing trip!

It's better you hear it from me…

http://www.whatisdominiche.com

Web Sites are available for peanuts at the moment - it's a
crazy situation.

Tomorrow - I explain the secret that every successful real
estate investor knows. Take this information and apply it to
web site buying and selling and you have an incredible
advantage!

 Ed

PS I'm scouting out for sites to value in real time - Some of
the deals out there are incredible. Ill show you some of these
in in the next few days!

Have a great week!

The KING of Buying and Selling Web Sites

Today we begin a little series on buying and selling web sites. This topic has been gaining a little bit more exposure lately, and for good reason. There's some great potential for buying sites as an additional income stream, or even to fix up and resell like you might do with real estate.

I've learned a bit about it from the "King" of website buying and selling - his name is Ed Dale.

This guys knows a lot about this and has perfected a system for buying and selling sites. In fact, he made $5 million in just one deal selling a group of sites that he had developed in a market that you would probably never guess (hint: it had nothing to do with internet marketing) His course has only been available to few elite marketers who already knew him or hung out in the same internet marketing circles as him.

But now he's getting ready to offer this course to the public.

Since I've been lucky enough to be in the right place, Ed has let me share his explanation of how the system works. This is from Ed:

Email Marketing ? Use the power of testimonials to strengthen your copy

I recently decided that I wanted to run a marathon.  I’ve been running off and on for most of my life but I’ve never taken on anything quite like this so I purchased a book called The Non-Runner’s Marathon Trainer.  It is a book written by two professors at the University of Northern Iowa who have successfully taught a course called Marathon Running 101 for more than ten years.  The result has been more than 200 students successfully running a marathon at the end of the course.

Why am I telling you all of this?

Because after only a few pages into the book, I was absolutely astounded.  This book is amazing!  I’m not talking about the training structure or the running tools and advice that they give – I’m only a few weeks into the program and the proof of their advice will be in my marathon results.

The truly great part of this book are the testimonials contained inside.  They demonstrate how powerful the voice of experience can be.  More on Email Marketing ? Use the power of testimonials to strengthen your copy

Canadian $ = US $ - Bring on the Canadians!

Yesterday I heard on the news that the Canadian dollar was at $0.98 U.S. Today, the Canadian dollar reached parity with the U.S. dollar. This news really takes aback those of us who grew with jokes about shopping in Canada. Living just south of the Canadian border in Washington State, it was conventional wisdom that you could buy almost twice as much for your U.S. dollar there as you could in the U.S. And it was an insult if someone gave you change (on the U.S. side) that included Canadian pennies, dimes or quarters.

Today all that has changed.

Over the past few months the Canadian and U.S. dollars have been creeping closer together in value until they are essentially the same.

So what does this mean for those of us who sell stuff? We're Canada's new China! :D

But seriously, if you have an online business of any sort based in the U.S., whether it's copywriting, mlm training, or patio furniture your stuff is now much cheaper to Canadians than it was just a few months ago. Suddenly, you are more price competitive and you didn't have to lower your prices!

In fact, this change has taken place just quickly enough that Canadian retailers have not had the chance to figure out how they're going to lower their prices to compete with their U.S. counterparts. Perhaps living in a town that is just 15 miles south of the Canadian border makes me more aware of this then someone living in Texas, but the benefits go to anyone doing business online in the U.S.

Particularly if you do not ship a physical product, the value of your offers just went up. Let's say you offer an eBook or training course for $97. A year ago that might have actually been more like $130 in Canadian funds. But now, it's actually $97 to them as well so a purchase they may have been holding off making is within the realm of possibility.

So for U.S. marketers, I advise that you make nice with your Canadian friends and remind them that it's actually cheaper to shop with you than to shop in Canada.

And for my Canadian buddies - come on down, the shopping's great!

4 More E-Zine Must Haves

Hope you're having a great weekend!  I spent the day at a cyclocross event with my daughter.  For those of you not familiar with the sport, it is basically riding your bike through the mud, snow, and over and around obstacles.  The goal of any competition is to generally complete as many loops of the course as you can in the time allotted.  It's a crazy sport and my daughter is a crazy kid - fun though!

Anyway, onto the writing and marketing stuff….

Last week we talked a bit about 5 things you absolutely must have if you want your e-zine to be successful and I promised that there were a few more.  Here they are:

1.  Forward to a friend.

This is a feature that publishers generally don't think much about but it can have great importance, especially if you offer an informative newsletter!  Don't just place your forward to a friend at the bottom of your newsletter as an afterthought, purposefully ask your readers to spread the word.  They like you and they'll do it. A simple message consistently included in each and every newsletter, preferably in the same place each time, that encourages recipients to  forward your newsletter to friends, family, and colleagues is all you need.  Word of mouth advertising is the best kind and any newsletter forwarded is great word of mouth advertising!

2.  Don't forget to link to your website, at least once.  More on 4 More E-Zine Must Haves

Patio Chair Cushions - How They Push Business

Believe it or not, patio chair cushions can really help the bottom line for a business. And you can even use an analogy to how well chosen cushions can give you a leg up.

This may not be the strongest analogy in the world, but let's give it a shot…

When you go to an outdoor cafe or even some indoor restaurants, you sometimes think you are being tortured as customer. Why is that? Because the chairs are so darn uncomfortable!

Either the food should be really good, or you have to wonder if you will ever go back there again.

Are You Doing the Things That Are Worth Your Time?

I'm a big advocate of spending time on things that are worth your time. That can be hard to do, since it seems easier just to do things ourselves rather than hire someone to do it for us. This is where mapping out the processes in your business can really pay off.

By knowing what you actually spend your time on during the day on a regular basis, you can hire and train someone to do that task for you. This doesn't have to be someone that comes into your office either. Nor does it have to be someone overseas. There are plenty of people who work from home that could take over some regular tasks for you.

These kinds of things run from answering the phone and processing customer orders to writing content for your web sites. Don't think you can afford it? Then check out the following article…

Staying Focused in Your Business

Good ideas are just a little too easy to come by.

When I first got into the world of marketing on the internet, I found myself in the same position as a lot of beginners. I was (and still am) learning all kinds of cool stuff about marketing, but the big question: "What Do I Sell?" hit me as hard as anyone else.

Once you get a bit further along in understanding the ins and outs of internet marketing, you end up with a completely opposite problem: "What Do I Focus On?". There are just so many good ideas, so many markets looking for a good product, that it can be hard to focus on development once you get started in a market. Especially if the part you really enjoy is the startup phase.

For example, there's an eCommerce store I started for outdoor furniture. That was a lot of fun to put together and it's a great market. But once I got the site up, I was distracted by other equally cool opportunities. The only problem is that there are only so many hours in each day, and you can only take on so many things at one time. It's true that a good process will have many of the tasks outsourced, but you still need to spend the time to develop the process and then find the people to fill the positions.

Finding good people may be the most difficult challenge in all of business, whether it's online or offline. But once you find good people that frees your own time up to continue developing markets and chasing down your other good ideas. ;)

So a plan of action that I really need to take is to focus on developing my existing assets, continue supporting the many great people who come to me for MLM training, and continue sharpening my own marketing skills so that I can pass that knowledge on to my organization.

So as you work on your business, remember to make it the best it can be while defining what the individual tasks are. Then find good people to fill those tasks so you can continue building out on your ideas. Trying to ride two horses at once is pretty darn tricky. I'd rather have those horses pulling me in a wagon. Then I can have lots of horses. ;)
