Network Marketing Meets Online Gaming: Finally!
It's pretty rare that I get excited right off the bat about a new business venture. There are a lot of great ideas, but most of them have been done before. So it's a matter of trying to position yourself to beat the "other guys".
Just before the weekend I heard from a new marketing buddy about an opportunity that I've actually thought about developing myself: combining two of my big interests - gaming and marketing. Finally, it's being done!
The number of people playing games online is growing four times faster than the number of new people getting on the internet. This is a huge market in a fun industry and we have a golden window of opportunity get in front of it.
So what's so revolutionary about this?
The company behind the project, VWD, already has several years of experience in the gaming industry and knows how to turn a profit. In addition to having games that will be fun to play, people will have a chance to win prizes by doing well at the games. This is the customer incentive to "pay to play": if they are good at it they win money. An important difference between this and gambling (which is heavily regulated in the U.S.) is that these are skill based games instead of "games of chance".
Winning a prize because you are good at chess, backgammon or "virtual golf" is a big difference from winning at poker. At least that's how the government sees it.
Along with the gaming aspect, the eVo project also embeds social networking. So players will be able to challenge each other to games and it will have the general feel of a "game room". You have a bunch of people around who like to play games, and what better crowd to interact with? These people like to have fun!
The network marketing aspect is really what gets the mind racing and possibilities opening up before you. Now that you have games that people like to play, the players can win cash by being good at a game, and all the players can interact with each other, it becomes brain-dead easy to invite others to "come and play"!
When your promoting something like "pills and soap" or even travel packages there is a much larger education curve that you have to overcome before a person will become a customer or business builder. With this kind of online gaming program, it's simple to explain. For customers the explanation is "you play games and win money if you're good". With business builders it's "you invite people to play games, and when they pay to play, you get a commission".
It's simple and it's really taking advantage of the leverage and power of the internet to do MLM the right way and continue to build social relationships in the online age.
